Privacy Policy for Vocabeelary

Vocabeelary ("we," "us," or "the app") is an SAT^® vocabulary learning app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Vocabeelary, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique account identifier and, depending on your choices and provider, your name and email address. If you use "Sign in with Apple" with "Hide My Email," we receive only a private relay email address.

Learning data. We store your study progress, mastery levels, streaks, daily goals, and app settings so your account works across devices.

AI tutor content. When you request an AI-generated memory hook or example sentence, the relevant word is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not send your name, email, or personal identity with these requests.

Technical data. We use Firebase App Check and standard security mechanisms to verify that requests come from the genuine app. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

To provide and sync your account and learning progress
To generate AI memory hooks and example sentences you request
To protect the app against abuse and enforce usage limits
To maintain, secure, and improve the app

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Third-party services

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, App Check) — stores your account and learning data. Google's privacy policy

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase's secure infrastructure and protected by access rules that limit each account's data to that account. We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, learning progress, and settings.

Children's privacy

Vocabeelary is intended for users 13 years of age and older (it is designed for SAT^® preparation). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can delete your data directly in the app, or contact us for assistance.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date.
